Singapore’s First Arm Wrestling Gym

Last night marked a historic moment in the Singaporean arm wrestling scene.

Over 30 years ago, Mr. Ang Hao Yao pioneered the arm wrestling movement in Singapore and the region—traveling overseas on his own, developing knowledge and relationships, not only in his capacity as an athlete, but also as an ambassador of the sport.

Now in 2025, we are a community of nearly 500 strong, and Singapore sees the opening of its first professional arm wrestling gym.

Four generations of Singaporean arm wrestling presidents have passed the torch: Mr. Ang Hao Yao, Mr. Valen Low, Mr. Jasper Chan, and now Mr. Leonard Yip. Eastside Arm Wrestling would never have made it this far without the cumulative efforts of all these gentlemen, their teams, and the community that they led.

Eastside Arm Wrestling will continue to strive for excellence and the growth of the sport in Singapore. We are confident that this is only the beginning of greater things to come.

Dare to Dream.

*Special thanks to Greg Ho of Grapplemax Pro Wrestling and Ang Hao Yao for the lovely welcome hampers at our grand opening; and to Shawn Lim and Jasper Chan of The Sweaty People for their sponsoring the membership of a new member to the Eastside family.
